GENERAL OBJECTIVES AND FIELDS OF KNOWLEDGE

Within the postgraduate studies in Fine Arts, Education Sciences, and Humanities and Social Sciences, this Master’s program is structured. The proposal presented here aims to train graduates from different disciplinary fields in the study and research of a topic that has been constant throughout much of human history: the relationship between the Arts and education, both in the training of specialists and in the education of all citizens. To ensure the appropriate training of graduates, the following objectives are established:

1. Explore narratives, disciplinary discourses, policies and institutional practices related to the histories of arts teaching and arts education.
2. Investigate the relationships between arts teaching and arts education and contemporary perspectives on innovation and creativity.
3. Contextualize the contributions and alternatives derived from the relationships between arts, education and community in order to address emerging social issues.
4. Evaluate the contributions and possibilities of Information and Communication Technologies linked to arts education and arts teaching.
5. Develop strategies for analyzing and transforming education through the critical understanding of artistic narratives, works and discourses.
6. Train students in the design and implementation of intervention and research projects in arts teaching and arts education in different social and cultural contexts.
